Why does the US continue to allow the drug and insurance companies to write its healthcare legislation? Step one would be allowing free market competition. In Japan you can buy insurance on the 30% you have to pay, from anywhere in Japan. The other 70% is universal healthcare. But even if you paid 100% the total price is less than the US. In fact you could get hurt every month and pay less than what a 4 months of US heath insurance cost for a healthy person ho never uses it!

Legislation has been introduced to the House of Representatives in Iowa that would completely outlaw abortion and mandate up to life in prison for those who purposefully terminate a pregnancy. This includes cases of rape, incest, or saving the life of the mother.
